Winery tour with the owner
The wine class is given in English by Piero, owner and winemaker at Poggerino.
He will walk you through the vineyards – which he considers the “Farm’s drawing room” - and explain to you about soil vitality, ‘terroir’, the different microclimates and organic growing methods.
Depending on the period of your visit, you will be able to see how our workers perform various operations, which are part of the vineyard’s management throughout the season.
Piero will infect you with his passion for the Sangiovese grape, and tell you about the history of the world -famous Chianti Classico wine region.
After a visit to the cellar’s ageing room where the wines are kept in small oak barrels and where the vinification process will be explained, you will have the chance to taste all the Poggerino wines, explained directly by their creator, in the beautiful setting of our garden overlooking the surrounding hills. Homemade snacks accompany the tasting.
All your questions are more than welcome, whether you are an enthusiast who wishes to know the wine region better, or a seasoned professional.
The tour takes about 2 hours and is given with a minimum of 4 participants. You can book in advance or simply ask us at your arrival if there’s a tour scheduled in the following days, and maybe join other guests.

Important note. Managing a wine Farm is sometimes a hard work which includes unpredictable contingencies. For this reason it could happen that Piero might not be available for some tour requests, being busy with work. In this case we apologize and…hope you will understand!
Cooking class #1 - “Pasta amore mio”
Pasta is the base of any Italian meal and can be prepared and seasoned in many different ways. In this lesson Benedetta will focus on homemade pasta and teach you how to make it easily at home .
Several different pasta recipes will be made, from tagliatelle to ravioli (stuffed pasta), to the timbale.
The lesson is about 3 hrs long and is given with a minimum of 4 participants . You can book in advance or simply ask us at your arrival if there’s a lesson scheduled in the following days, and maybe join other guests.

Cooking class #2 – Pasticceria italiana
Pastry: this is really Benedetta’s great passion. Italy offers an ancient tradition of pastry recipes.
It’s important to consider that pastry is an art where there’s no improvisation and where all the ingredients have to be chosen, calibrated and balanced with extreme attention. There are some tools which you need in your kitchen to be able to create certain recipes (a kitchen aid, a mini pimer, a thermometer, a microwave etc) therefore we will ask you how your kitchen is equipped, before deciding which recipes we are going to create together. This because the most important thing for us is to teach recipes which you can then make at home on your own.

Cooking class #3 – Let’s prepare a complete meal
Italy in divided into 20 regions and each one of them has its own traditional and unique recipes. Then, in each region, the same recipes will vary depending on the town and sometimes even on a family’s traditions! The richness and variety Italian cuisine offers is really amazing and probably unique in the world.
In this lesson we will not only focus on Tuscan recipes but we will draw from the Italian culinary repertoire and decide what to prepare depending on the season and on what is available in our organic vegetable garden and at other organic local producers which we support.
During the fully hands-on lesson we will prepare a 4 course menu.
